Ms. Rude

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These five pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1929. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. As such, NJHS chapters and students are in schools that care not only about student achievement, but also community engagement. NJHS students and their peers volunteer in their communities at the highest rates and make connecting with and serving within the community a priority. At Explorer, students are invited to join NJHS by demonstrating high academic integrity and a commitment to their community.

Student Government (STUGO)

Ms. Kramer

Chew Crew

Ms. Shea and Ms. Buffington

Any 7th or 8th grade students can join. We meet on Tuesdays during lunch and play board games in order to help make new friends and meet new people. Held in Room 102.

Drama Club

Ms. Stringham

This club meets during school hours once a month. It is a chance for students to have fun and meet new friends. During meetings, students play improv games and get information about upcoming events; they can also audition or apply for the main stage shows, Improv Troupe, or Writer’s Circle that Drama Club sponsors.

Explorer Gives Back

Mrs. LeBlanc

Explorer Gives Back is a service-based club. Our main focus will be to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the hungry in our area. The fee to join the club is $5. The club is sponsored by Mrs. LeBlanc and will meet at 8am in the cafeteria on the first Wednesday of each month.

This club meets on Wednesdays throughout the year. It is a club for girls to join a group of supportive peers and role models, and use Computer Science to change the world. Ms Girls not only learn about how to positively impact their communities through code, but they are also taught to be brave and resilient - which has an enormous impact on how they approach challenges and whether they stick with coding in the years to come.

Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA)

Mr. Wiggins

Gay-Straight Alliance, or GSA, is a student-led and student-organized school club that is here to offer a safe, welcoming, and accepting environment for anyone, regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. GSAs provide a supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQIA+) students, as well as those who want to support their fellow students. Students should feel free to attend as many or as few meetings as they want. This club's main goal is to offer a bi-weekly space for any and all students to spend their lunch in a safe and supportive environment.
