National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These five pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1929. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. As such, NJHS chapters and students are in schools that care not only about student achievement, but also about community engagement. NJHS students and their peers volunteer in their communities at the highest rates and make connecting with and serving within the community a priority. At Explorer, students are invited to join NJHS by demonstrating high academic integrity and a commitment to their community.
Student Government (STUGO)
Student Government is a club that organizes school activities, such as Spirit Weeks, lunch games, food drives, fundraisers, etc. They also promote school spirit and help build a unified student body. This club meets once a week.
Ms. Shea and Ms. Chinea
Any 7th or 8th grade students can join. We meet on Tuesdays during lunch and play board games in order to help make new friends and meet new people. Held in Room 102.
This club meets during school hours once a month. It is a chance for students to have fun and meet new friends. During meetings, students play improv games and get information about upcoming events; they can also audition or apply for the main stage shows, Improv Troupe, or Writer’s Circle that Drama Club sponsors.
Explorer Gives Back
Explorer Middle School is proud to offer a service-based club again this year. The club will meet at 8:15 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in room 603/604.
