Ms. Burgess/Mrs. Jordan &

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These five pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1929. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. As such, NJHS chapters and students are in schools that care not only about student achievement, but also about community engagement. NJHS students and their peers volunteer in their communities at the highest rates and make connecting with and serving within the community a priority. At Explorer, students are invited to join NJHS by demonstrating high academic integrity and a commitment to their community.

Girls Who Code

Mrs. Gillespie

Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip girls with computing skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities. Through our Girls Who Code Clubs, we aim to close the gender gap in technology. Join our weekly club and learn how to build an app, design a video game, and change the world through code.

This club will start January 11, 2023, and will meet on Wednesdays, from 3:45-5:00 p.m. in room 904.

Mrs. Jordan

This is a group for girls who meet on Wednesdays at lunch in room 102. We have discussions and do activities that promote girls working together as allies, embracing our differences, empathizing, and building one another up through kindness. We also play games, music, and role-play scenarios.
