These academic electives offer language-intensive experiences for the beginning language student.

French 

Introduction to French (SEM) is the first part of an academic, high school level elective class. The focus is on building vocabulary and basic sentence structure in oral and written activities. Home activities/practice are expected/required.

French I/II (YR) is the second part of the academic, high school level elective class. Students will continue strengthening communication skills (speaking, writing, listening, reading) through oral and written activities. Home activities and practice are expected/required.

Prerequisites for this course include completion of Introduction to French and French and English teacher recommendations.

Mandarin

Introduction to Mandarin (SEM) is the first part of an academic, high school level elective class. The focus is on building vocabulary and basic sentence structure in oral and written activities.

Mandarin I/II (YR) is the second part of the academic, high school level elective class. Students will continue strengthening communication skills (speaking, writing, listening, reading) through oral and written activities. Students will also explore Asian cultures.

Spanish

Introduction to Spanish (SEM) is the first part of an academic, high school level, elective class. The focus is on building vocabulary and basic sentence structure in oral and written activities. Home activities/practice are expected/required.

Spanish I/II (YR) is the second part of the academic, high school level elective class. Students will continue strengthening communication skills (speaking, writing, listening, reading) through oral and written activities. Home activities and practice are expected/ required.
