Curriculum
The vision of Explorer Middle School is to become a great adolescent-centered learning community, where students are expected to meet high academic standards, contribute as positive citizens in our community, and become productive members of the 21st century. We are committed to providing innovative and challenging experiences through our curriculum, instruction, and assessment that are aligned with state standards. We are dedicated to provide support and time for students to meet rigorous standards. We are committed to providing our students frequent exposure to the visual and performing arts, physical fitness, foreign language and technology.
We are very proud to continuously be recognized as one of Arizona's most excelling schools. We are currently rated a "10" on GreatSchools.org for our school’s outstanding academic achievement. Additionally, we are named one of the top 100 middle schools in the state of Arizona by US News & World Report as well as the top 75 middle schools in the state of Arizona by School Digger.
Districts from around the state and the nation tour our school on a regular basis to learn about our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs.
The mission of the Curriculum Department is to increase student achievement through the provision of systemic innovative curricula characterized by standards and research-based educational programs that deliver effective and differentiated instruction in partnership with schools, families, and the diverse PVSchools community.
In PVSchools, we engage, inspire, and nurture students through high-quality instruction, meaningful educational opportunities, and dynamic learning experiences. Curriculum, adhering to Arizona state standards, is adopted transparently with opportunities for community feedback.
Curriculum Adoptions
To nurture creativity, curiosity, and strategic thinking through dynamic learning experiences, PVSchools routinely evaluates curriculum resources and provides recommendations for curriculum adoptions.
